Skyquaker - Queen Kong
Aurora Eclipse Productions Ltd are proud to introduce SkyQuaker with their debut single, a song entitled “Queen Kong”. Featuring narration of Vladimir Bukovsky, the Russian author, dissident, and fearless critic of the Soviet Union who died unexpectedly on 28th October 2019
Initial Release Platforms: Bandcamp, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play, Tidal, YouTube and all major global streaming and music stores with further global coverage to follow.
To the uninitiated, SkyQuaker seems a straight forward rock act. However, upon deeper investigation, this could not be further from the truth. SkyQuaker reveals itself as an intense, boundary-breaking Avantgarde group whose music is seemingly rooted in Punk, Classical, Hard Rock, Metal, Cinematic, Funk, Jazz, Pop, Dub Reggae and beyond. The more we hear their demos, the depth of fusion, ideas and concepts is seemingly endless. For more on the band themselves, check out our Introducing SkyQuaker post.
QUEEN KONG explodes with visual and complex musical forms as the tracks deploy movie-theatre soundscapes, atmospherics in voice-over dialogues and spinning 3D sound-effects amid a swirling vortex of pounding guitars and flamenco vocal wails. The 3-dimensional movie-soundtrack stems from the vocalist and main songwriter’s (Stephen Hope-Wynne) career as a successful screen actor having star IMDB credits in major game and movie cult-franchise titles like Lara Croft Shadows of the Tomb-Raider and Orwell.

Footnote:
Vladimir Bukovsky is the Narration featured speaking voice of Queen Kong. He had been recording documentary material about his life as a Russian Soviet Dissident for Queen Kong and another Ambient music project with Composer and Producer Michael W. Bell and Stephen Hope-Wynne for a forthcoming AEPL release in between bouts of hospitalisation. Vladimir died of complications arising from years of ill health while in Soviet custody. His latest book newly translated into English is available as “JUDGEMENT IN MOSCOW” published by Ninth of November Press https://www.vladimirbukovsky.com/bio
Bukovsky spent a total of 12 years in Soviet prisons, labour camps, and forced-treatment psychiatric hospitals for his outspoken opposition to the communist regime. He was a founding member of the Human Rights Foundation’s International Council and a frequent participant in HRF’s activities.
SkyQuaker offers this record to acknowledge the life of Vladimir Bukovsky.
