About: Isabelle Swan

Isabelle Swan is a Graphic Designer based in London… She’a a damn fine Digital Artist too, but don’t tell her we told you so!

Isabelle’s design practice was crafted from her time and experience at Kingston University; but it started a lot earlier than that… You can check out AuroraCast #16 to learn more about that from Izzy herself.

Isabelle has a somewhat philosophical approach to her work and the ability to identify value in a given project by developing it fully during the design process. She explained this to us as the following… “The ethos of ‘thinking through making' has developed into a process of working. Looking at the brief and realising an idea or concept and letting it influence the whole design process. The content influencing the design decisions and creating an outcome which is truthful to the work.”

Isabelle enjoys working towards different outcomes, or the outcome which is most appropriate for the project. This has lead her to have the confidence to get experimental, trying different techniques, softwares and tools in order to get the most out of the project at hand.

From our experience of working and communicating with Izzy, this way of extrapolating ideas from a given brief and pondering them throughout the creative process has often allowed for many welcome suggestions and ideas of value; both inside and outside of the original brief. We have even known her to explore and adapt her design ideas into marketing strategies; it’s impressive stuff!
